Bong Hits For Jesus

So I wake up this morning hungover. The deepest thoughts come in the silence that is you figuring out how much you consumed the next morning.

Its Sunday.. the sabbath. The girls are goin to church and were stayin back and takin bong hits.. for the man himself. I think Jesus would want it that way. He did say Sunday is the day of rest and who rests harder than some one smacked out of their minds? And besides, he said do not worship me.. Worship my father. Jesus was a Jew. Where did Christianity ever follow this request?

Mehh.. We can name our religion after dude, but fuck what he says. lmao. People take anything how they want to.

New Playaz Circle Ft. Ludacris. "Gettin Rich"

Peep this.. Hot shit.

Artist of the Week: Chris McAdoo of HollyWeerd

Discipline: Tattoo/Hip Hop
Headquarters: City of Ink Tattoo & Art Gallery - Atlanta, Ga (Castleberry Hills)
Age: 23

For my first artist of the week, I have to pick one whose work is closest to my heart... literally. (Now dread-less) Chris McAdoo, member of HollyWeerd, an Atlanta-based hip hop group, doubles as a talented tattoo artist at famed City of Ink Tattoos in Atlanta. Chris has been tattooing for 3 years but has been painting and writing music since high school. His artwork speaks for itself ("oo la la son orgasmique" might be the dopest shit Ive seen since i found out what lesbian orgies looked like.. lol) along with the music he has taken part in making. I stumbled upon HollyWeerd in high school and have been voraciously listening ever since. Their musical style consists of solid messages, that aren't "superthug" based. One may attempt to compare said style to the newer rise in hip hop shown by such artists as Wale, Drake, Kanye West, (among others) popularizing lyrics about things much more important than "how many niggas I can kill at one time." A main, beautifully captured, difference between HollyWeerd and others is the way they truthfully represent the city of Atlanta. Listening to such tracks as "Go Hard Or Go Home,"and "Have You Ever Made Love To A Weerdo" (with that sexy ass live saxophone) transports the listener's mind inside 285, like few others (Outkast, B.O.B., Killer Mike) have done successfully. Soulja Boy does not represent all of my city. While T.I. takes one to Bankhead and Gucci's music seeps with Zone 6 mantras, McAdoo and HollyWeerd highlight the thoughts and minds of those in such progressive, but externally overlooked areas as Castleberry Hills and Little Five Points. Such inspiring quotes as "You are the resistance" are carressed by music that can only be described as uniquely solid. With no qualms about good music, McAdoo states "If the tracks hot, we'll jump on that shit," when asked about a resident producer of the group's tracks. Look for HollyWeerd in a neighborhood near you. They're supposed to be hittin the 9:30 club sometime this year, and do shows constantly throughout Atlanta.

Enter Thou Into This Company and Seek Truth

So the most interesting shit thats happened to me so far this week, is this new tattoo. The bugged out shit is that it's still there every time I look. Duh, right? But naw.. You don't really realize that shits not goin no where til you see it every time you look right or left.

But I love it tho!

And for all you who are interested and continue to ask what it says/means, here goes:

"Enter Thou Into This Company And Seek Truth"

The meaning behind this tattoo stems from the larger saying on the back of Founders library at Howard University. The statement basically states that Founders is a place where "cultured" men have come through in search of knowledge, greatness, and truth. When reading this I immediately thought of the great line of men that I come from. My grandfathers have been successful in pursuits that range from pimpin and selling drugs, to being Chief of Police of Atlanta. These men, along with those who have come before them are the "company" that I am reminding myself to keep.

One of my favorite things about this tattoo is that "Truth" rests over my heart. This is something that I have been in search of my whole life. Not being one who easily follows things, I have been questioning my existence and purpose since as long as I can remember. This constant reminder to use my heart in this search jus makes my toes curl. lmao.

So for all you dumb guala mufuckas who feel like I jus do this shit cuz I wanna be tatted up... Kill yourself. And your parents so theirs no chance of there ever being another you..
